It is november. The sun is faint and isn't on our side anymore. The days are short as our steps getting shorter guessing the lurking coldness. Gaffes are unvaluable. However, we take the venture to step forward despite the imminent consequences. The curiosity wins again. Untouched, braving the arbitrariety its leads us on it's uncertain path. With rushing speed, passing the time, you fall into the space sometimes. It annihilates us, energy getting released. As free as it adopts the spectrum of light and endoves us the wamrth of its light that is missing within the coldness. What a pleasure but also so unfamiliar, strange at least. We hold it, we keep it, bevor of being a stranger is crunching us to dust. Dust that is so finely granulated that the wind won't able to blow it away in any direction.

endlich ist es soweit. die nummer 4 des open music contest samplers findet sich komplett online. 2 cd's vollgepackt mit freier musik und dazugehoerigem booklet und artwork.

Nachdem dieser Sampler erneut rasch vergriffen war, stellen wir hier mit Unterstützung durch das Hochschulrechenzentrum eine Downloadmöglichkeit bereit. Alle Bands freuen sich sicherlich über Besuch auf ihren Webseiten (Klick auf das "[www]") und Feedback zu den Stücken, mit denen sie sich hier empfehlen. Die Stücke liegen im freien Ogg-Vorbis-Format vor, das jeder aktuelle Mediaplayer problemlos abspielen sollte

mit dabei dieses mal sind u.a. die von mir hoch geschaetzten pornophonique, kitchen cowboys, velvet june, jammin*inc (die ja mittlerweile schon stammgaeste sind), the truth above, the dots und viele andere. das ganze ist mal wieder eine bunte mischung an kuenstlern und stilrichtungen aus der freien musik szene.

Der Sampler erschien am 16. Oktober 2008 zusätzlich auf der Heft-CD von Augabe 11/2008 der Zeitschrift LinuxUser. Die CDs waren in Marburg wieder nach wenigen Tagen vollständig vergriffen, wir bieten auch diesen Sampler jedoch hier frei und vollständig zum Download an.

weil man jetzt alles so leicht findet ;)

Entstanden ist “Bärlin City” ursprünglich mal in einem Burger-Restaurant auf der Schlossstraße in Berlin. Da saß ich ganz alleine in der oberen Etage und da ich jede Menge Zeit hatte, hatte ich einfach mal was angefangen. Die Vocals, wenn man das so nennen kann, hatte ich über einen Kopfhörer, aufgenommen, den ich einfach zweckentfremdet in den Mikro-Eingang steckte. Und weil ich das Dingen so sehr mag, kann das auch hier rein, dachte ich.

ich hab da mal wieder eine alte thinner-perle ausgegraben:

2005 starts with an rather unusual release for thinner. consisting of four gems, the ′lighthouse ep′ is a minimal vocal-house ep that might surprise for it′s poetic song passages within the minimal house frame. this 3-tracker is the result of the first collaborative effort of the ever versatile benfay with the irish singer alice mackay, currently residing in scotland.

the three songs of the ′lighthouse ep′ have quite a story. originally it was during christmas 1999 when benfay and alice spontaneously recorded her songs in dublin. back home in berne the songs got reworked. alice liked the results but it would take another while until benfay builds these three tracks upon her voice, cutting the sequences into parts and giving new meaning to them. the project will be continued as benfay will travel to scotland in february 2005 to record some new songs with alice.
